The Deltania Group
We would like to bring to your attention the DELTANIA GROUP – so called because it operates two DELTANIA 22 sailing cruisers. These were bought from new and launched in July 2007 – built in Poland to a German design. They are a comfortable 4 berth sailing cruiser with toilet compartment, sink & cooker. They have auxiliary power from new 6hp Mariner 4 stroke outboard motors & full electronics. They have lifting keels and can be sailed into shallow waters.
Each boat is owned by a syndicate of 8 owners who get regular sailing and largely manage the maintenance. Sailing is generally on the delightful Mar Menor and can be pleasure cruising or SAMM club events. A day out might be a trip to a local island, with a picnic and a swim off the boat, or call in at one of the many marinas for coffee and a snack. Access to the Mediterranean is also possible through the canal at Marina Thomas Maestre, La Manga.
Both boats are moored at Los Urrutias Marina just past Las Alcazares. This is a protected mooring with support facilities. The group is very sociable and often meets for meals and chats. Members often sail together, but family & friends are also welcome. A qualification (ICC,) is necessary and can be arranged locally. Assistance with the training can be provided by the group. Membership of SAMM also gives access to its lively social scene & support.
Owning a boat like the Deltania would be out of the question for a lot of people – in terms of finance, maintenance & crewing. A boat share spreads the cost of ownership across the group and provides expert knowledge and assistance. The cost of a share is currently in the region of 2200 Euros.
There are often shares for sale. If you would like more information please phone Peter Ewers 649572017 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or Michael Egar. Michael is now the chairman of Gemini Uno boat. His email is Michael.email@example.com phone no. +44 7738355731.
